The short version: there are no accounts and no cookies. The calculator runs entirely in your browser, so the vehicle, ZIP code and driving details you enter never reach us. We count visits in aggregate to see what's useful, and we don't sell anything about you.
What you enter
Your vehicle, ZIP code, mileage and other settings are used only inside your browser to calculate results. They aren't sent to ChargeTruth, saved on our servers or shared with anyone.
Once you change a setting, your browser remembers your choices on this device (using its local storage, not a cookie), so the calculator opens with your numbers next time. That copy never leaves your browser. To clear it, press Start over under the calculator's inputs, or clear this site's data in your browser settings.
Visit statistics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't track you across other websites. It reports totals such as which pages are viewed, which site sent the visit, the visitor's country and the type of device and browser. We use these totals only to improve the site.
Services that load the site
- Cloudflare hosts and delivers the site. Like any web host, it processes your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces. Your browser downloads them from Google, which receives your IP address when it does. See Google's privacy policy.
Links to other sites
ChargeTruth links to utilities, programs, test results and charger directories. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we don't control.
Referral links
ChargeTruth doesn't use referral links yet. If we add them, for example to home chargers or electricity plans, we'll say so next to the link and update this page. A referral never changes the numbers the calculator shows.
Children
ChargeTruth is meant for adults and doesn't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
